This was a little road at the Chicago naval base. I took it when I went down to watch my boyfriend graduate from navy boot camp. It means alot because I hadn't been able to talk to him or see him in three months and this road led me right to him.

One of the rhetorical modes Ted Conver used was metaphors. For example when he says "its hard to build without destroying". He is saying that in order to achieve a goal something must be sacrificed. Another rhetorical mode was description. He described how roads can be used to "introduce us to friends" and "provide access to enemies. Conver describes how being on the road makes him feel alive.
